The use and analysis of remote sensing products, such as vegetation indices (NDVI, EVI), assist in crop yields forecast and could help to match soil fertility status and culture needs, avoiding unnecessary expenses. Remote sensing could revolutionize conventional agriculture by facilitating the management of soybean. This study aimed to evaluate the relationship between NDVI and EVI indices obtained from MODIS with soybean phenological cycle using a profile temporal spectrum, relating the spectral response with soil and plants attributes in four commercial plots in Campo Verde, MT. We used products from MODIS, MOD13Q1 and MYD13Q1 sensors. These sensors present NDVI and EVI indices as image compositions with spatial resolution of 250 meters, and the Pixel Reliability tool, that indicates how reliable each pixel is. We correlated the extracted NDVI and EVI indices with measured field data through Pearson correlation. EVI showed higher correlations and greater sensitivity to soybean phenological cycle than NDVI in a time spectrum profile. The phenological stage R5 (grain filling) had high negative correlation with soil phosphorus (P) and high positive correlation with clay content in the four plots. Clay content also correlated with productivity in some plots. It was observed that EVI R5 phase was better correlated with final soybean yield.
